Let's share pictures! My flowers etc that are in the ground are in a baby stage, so i dont have much to share there. I would really love to see yours though ladies! I stare at my dirt everyday waiting for things to grow..... maybe if I see yours growing I'll feel better! I do have alot of lilies poking up and some glads and acidanthera.

I can share my elephant ears! I planted two, each in nice big black pots. They are doing really well so far.

and here are my pots with my twisty trees. I've planted impatiens and some green folliage around them.

Everyone's flowers look great. Mine are slow in coming but the weeds are up there and the ferns are taking over everything. Planted boxes but we need more sunshine!!!! I am envious of Vancouver, looking good and WHO has been swimming, since WHEN:D.

Great idea! I thought that I better get my spring photos in before spring turns to summer. Problem is that I am not sure that is going to ever happen in my zone.
Anyway, things are starting to change and I have yet to do my herb pot garden which I usually do in the table you see in the background with all the clay pots.I have started using ferns on our front deck since the sunlight is limited in that area. My front little garden will hopefully be spilling over with hydrangeas at some point but obviously....not yet. :) I still have more planting I want to do and the real event takes place in my backyard but it is still looking pretty green as well.

PearlG, What is the name of the white perrenial on the rock garden ledge in the first series of pics you posted ?

I have seen this white or purple-pink variety in other gardens and often wondered the name & does it remain in bloom long ?

Thanks:)

the pink/purple one may be creeping phlox, we had one in our last garden and it is awesome! This is it in its first year, this year, it had doubled in size, at least

Thanks, I will make a mental note of that - I frequent the garden centers and not always familar with the names.:)

LOL, DBD, this is why I had to check the date on this "spring is here" post! ;) Not to rub it in or anything, but we've been swimming in our pool since April 30th and summer annuals are in full bloom over here. :D

Wow! Vancouver has palm trees and alium (sp?)in full bloom? That's it...it's 5 am and I have been up all night and am tired, but I am cracking out the paint right now. I have to finish this house and get it on the market so I can move to BC. I still have a little snow drift in my backyard from snow that fell off the patio roof yesterday....I have to get out of here.

Snow in June is not nice. Here we have had colder than usual weather and for the next few days it's the "R" word. So we can't complain and at least it isn't snowing. Here is what spring looks like in our yard.

Well here's hoping your new plants didn't get the bad weather. it's snowing in Calgary at this very moment and if it continues like this overnight we will be very white by morning (not to mention the temp is supposed to go below 0). All the plants I got are sitting under a tarp at the moment. Good thing I didn't plant them last week as I might not have been able to cover them as easily.

Well you're obviously in a different zone than me. :p

I'm really happy with my window boxes this year, they're all across the back windows. And here's a pic of my planters I did up yesterday with these tikochina trees for by the pool - apparently they bloom with large purple flowers all summer. Right now they're just bursting with buds, but they haven't opened yet. And a pic of my roses in the front. I'm not usually a rose person, but we inherited some with the house so when I extended the flower bed I added a couple more. Today was the first day there were some blooms fully open. I love that they just flower and flower till fall. My climbing hydrangea on the side of the pool shed...the shed is slated to be torn down probably next year to build an outdoor kitchen, so we'll have to try to relocate it. And finally my herb containers - just some chives and stuff for easy clipping.

Muranogirl I love your front door! :)
