staining teak furniture

I have a teak cabinet that I love. I am re-doing my dining room with dark coloured/espresso wood, and I want to keep the cabinet. Can I sand and stain the teak a dark brown? Will this work? How will it look? Is there anyone that's done this that can comment?

staining teak furniture. I think ours looks great and if you prefer a darker wood then I say go for it!

while in Bali...I don't think there is any problem with staining it...we were able to choose from lots of colours and picked this colour...I think this is what you are looking for...the furniture is darker in real life...

From what I know teak is a very dense wood and therefore does not take stain well.

i would not attempt refinishing the teak. it is a very expensive wood and i'd be afraid of ruining it. if you really have your heart set on it, i'd ask a professional.
