Thanks Shelley001. My wicker chair does not have and finish on it and I really thought the stain would work but I was afraid to take a chance. Knowing someone actually did it and it worked makes me feel a whole lot more comfortable. I guess you also need but a durathane clear coat on top of the stain. If I get to doing it in the next few days I will post some pictures.
I stained a wicker set about 2 years ago, but they were rough wicker - no gloss finish on them. If there's a finish, the stain won't take. otherwise, it works great!! THe lady who had them done, has since bought a glass table and added tropical cushions to her set and it looks like she paid $1000 for the set. It's gorgeous. I'll see if I can get a pic next time I'm over there.
you can - ask at your local building centre or hardware place, they should be able to help
