My father is planning a big open house at his home, for business associates and friends, and I will do the decorating.
I did the decorating for this event last year and used a "star" theme in white, gold and silver. I bought gold and opalescent star shaped dishes, star shaped lights to hang in the windows, and decorated his white tree in gold and silver star ornaments. I used a lit star tree topper nestled in greenery with mini lights for his mantle. I had fun flinging star shaped sparklers all over the tables (I was NOT on the clean-up crew!).
I will re-use all of the star ornaments this year, but I am hoping you all can help me solve the problem I gave up on last year -the table centrepiece. It is a cocktail party and he has a VAST table that will hold most of the food - what do I put in the centre that will go with this theme?
Any other ideas to expand on this theme would be appreciated - I would like to do the mantle differently for example.
