what you want might not be in stock but they probably have access to a few manuf. of flooring products they can order in for you (the Armstrongs, Manningtons etc...) - pricing might start to get not-so-attractive when you special order but worth asking if your other choices are limited in your area.

Good luck in your search

They showed some on Cityline not long ago that were very realistic and I believe it came as sheet vinyl. I would imagine a place that has the larger selections might know which companies make it. HD and stores like it are pretty limited in their selections compared to flooring stores.

i have seen the tiles at HD however their selection seems quite limited. they only had 3 different "slate" tiles. the darkest one was a grayish-taupey-rust colour which i like but with an almost black countertop i am looking for something with more black. maybe i need to check other HD's or would they have the same selection of stock???

For a really easy installation, try peel & stick tiles from Home Depot. There are "good", "better" and "best" versions of peel & stick and you probably want to go with the "best" as the colours and textures appear far more natural. I know they have a limestone and a slate-look tile as well as a few others. Cost is approximately $1.10 per tile (12 x 12) if I remember correctly.
