you may have heard me mention in the past that we do not have enough work space in our kitchen, we did at one time add a drop down cupboard, BIG MISTAKE, its at the end of the counter and not a good work spot. So the one plan that the kitchen guy came up with and space wise seems to be the only one that works. Is, we plan to remove the end drop down cupboard and put the fridge there and where the fridge is now will be another work surface with lower and upper cabs. I did do some research and they dont recommend you put a fridge beside a dishwasher, unless you add a piece of styrofoam for insulation which we likely could do, because it can cause your fridge to use more energy, however, all the kitchen designers told me that they do it all time but you must have a side panel on the end of your dishwasher, which we do plus the fridge is also going to have a side panel on each side so it looks more built in. So in between the dishwasher and fridge will be two side panels plus two inches (which you wont see as they use fillers) in between the two appliances, so even though they are beside one another they are not pressed against each other. We cant add a cupboard in between because it will make the fridge go to far into the dining area. We can't do an island or penisulla as the space isnt wide enough.
my question is, has anyone ever seen this done? i also desperately need to see pictures of kitchens that have done this, if you find any can you please post the pictures here............i have a computer picture from the designer but its not visual enough for me
any input is appreciated as im really stressing big time, i dont want to make an expensive mistake, as i said i did talk to a few highly reputable kitchen designers and they all said its okay to do
in the picture you will see the drop down counter that will be removed and so will the one upper cupboard, you will also see the side panel on the dishwasher and beside that will be gap and a fridge side panel will be added but as i said you wont see the gaps as they will use fillers
thank you for any help
