Suggestions for Accent Wall Colour

CanadianMommy's picture

I went to Cityline in the fall and was lucky enough to get Eric McClelland to come up with a furniture layout for my family room.  We are following his suggestions and have moved our bookcases to the far wall (they used to flank the fireplace, which meant our t.v. wiring had to move - see drywall repair in photo).
Our sofa, loveseat and area carpet are new.  We will be getting two chocolate brown (faux)leather chairs for the area in front of the bookcases as well as a large square chocolate brown leather ottoman for the center of the room.  These are coming later in the week.
The current wall colour is BM Sisal (CC-304).  I don't think it is the ideal colour for the room but feel it will "work" for now.  Since that colour also flows into the kitchen, I would like to leave it in the family room for until I am ready to paint the entire space.  The fireplace is BM Universal Black (2118-10).  Other colours on the main floor are BM Lodge (AF-115) and BM Sundried Tomato (CC-62).  The soaf and loveseat are more of a taupe beige colour.
I was thinking of painting the inset on the fireplace wall an accent colour.  It has to be painted anyway and I don't have enough BM Sisal to do it so I have to purchase paint.  Should I paint that wall an accent colour?  If so, any suggestions.  I will also be changing the window coverings, perhaps side panels?
Any other room suggestions would be appreciated.  The ideas posted on here are always so inspirational.
