We have just finished carving out a new pathway, with new gravel. I would like to lay slabs of slate as stepping stones, but this will have to wait. I've grouped an obelisk, a planter and bought a small cedar (sort of shaped like a bonsai). I need to find a pot for this little tree, but want something unusual. It will have to stay out all year too. I don't want anything too big, will the tree live in a smaller pot? Any suggestions for one?

Get that little tree into a larger pot at least 24 inches in diameter if you want it to survive. Then put a brick underneath so it won't let water collect. Make sure you keep these plants well watered.

I don't think you should go smaller with the container for the tree. It is hard to tell how large the tree and container are from the pic.
