Hey Guys :)
I am new to your forum but love that there is a place I can find advice and tips.
Currently I have an issue with my house and the thawing of the ice on my lawn. It is causing my sump pump to discharge every half an hour or so. I am not sure if that is an issue but its causing the water to flow all over my front lawn and into the house via the basement.
Does anyone have a suggestion for me? Should I attach a pipe and run it to the street?
Cheers,

A guess here - but I think that there is so much melting snow water going into the sump pump that it can't process - some may be going down to the sewer drain, but the rest backs up onto the lawn - and as a result, runs down to the basement
Another guess - this poster lives here on the west coast where our multi-feet of snow is melting really, really fast! :p
the sump pump should be draining the water into the sewer drain, not back onto your lawn.
My guess is you are right to consider getting that water out to the street. The more that stays on your lawn, the more you have to pump out of the basement and you will just have an unending cycle of it. You might also want to move as much of your lawn snow/ice as you can too. Get it away from the house and so it will run off your property (vs towards the foundation) as it melts.
I'm a bit confused.
The water from the sump pump is thawing your lawn and draining into the basement through a wall?
Or the melted water on your lawn is going into the sump and causing the pump to go off in the basement?
