Hello peonygirl,
I agree, since you don't already have a runner in the dining room, you could use one on the kitchen table. Since the holidays are approaching, you may get some ideas from the Tabletop Tips section of our Holiday Entertaining Guide. Or browse all of our tabletop content for inspiration photos.
Good luck with the centerpiece!

Thanks CarrieinSK. We have a Dining Room but no table as yet. But, I see your point. Maybe I will try a centrepiece...but just not sure of what to do. I have some colourful balls in my family room...so, I thought that might be overdoing it with the balls.
Do you have a dining room? If so, do you have a runner already on your dining room table? If you do, then I probably wouldn't add one to your kitchen table. I would probably do place mats or add a centerpiece. Maybe an oblong ceramic bowl or a round wooden bowl with colourful wooden balls?
