What is everyone cooking for dinner or I you one of the lucky ones that have been invited out ?
The butcher has deboned a turkey, duck and chicken that is in the freezer ready.
Anyone cooked a turducken before?
I may need a fave cornbread stuffing if anyone has one. :)

I did my first turkey two years ago and I felt the same way Puddlejumper :) I called my Nan back in NS to help over the phone and I was quite impressed how it turned out...but then I had also invited over a lot of friends, now a lot of friends have moved away and there is only two of us so I think I'll pass on the turkey this year, probably have Kraft dinner or something, lol :)

Just one advice.....don't forget to take out the package from inside the turkey which contains the neck, gizzard and liver. Get an already basted turkey and there is nothing to do to it really, usually the directions for cooking time are on the package itself. Wish you luck in your first turkey dinner and enjoy!

As for the rest of the menu, check www.epicurious.com. I've used their recipes over and over and always satisfied with the results.

I'm doing my first thanksgiving dinner.this year...a little nervous, but there's only a few people going to be here, so how hard can it be? A friend who's coming into town for the weekend has promised to walk me through it...she even sent me a list of equipment I'm going to need. I feel so grown up now that I own a turkey baster and a roasting pan! :biglol: The only thing I know that we're having for sure is turkey....guess I should probably think about the rest of the menu soon, eh?

from our local turkey farmer...a nice grain-fed "organic" turkey. The only way to go! Check out epicurious.com for recipes.
