Last year I dug up all my tulips in a small garden at the front of my house so that I could plant gladiolas. I did not get around to planting tulips last fall but....they sprouted back up again. I was surprised but pleased.
Nothing quite says spring like the sign of tulips.

I planted 30 some glad bulbs in that same spot and of course pulled them out at the end of the season. Squirrels do not seem to go after my bulbs for one reason or another. Then again we do not have a huge squirrel population.
Anyway, I am certainly not going to touch them this year.
Well there's a switch. Usually people plant tulips and the squirrels get them so they never come up. You must have had oodles when you pulled them out to have so many left (or maybe the squirrels brought some back?)
