tiger striping paint technique??

We are almost done renovating our 150 year old southern ontario farmhouse - the majority of the house has amazing woodwork all done in a "tiger striping" paint technique. Since most of this is still in mint condition I would just like to repaint areas that have been damaged or repaired.
Does anyone know how to do this technique? It looks like a brown paint with a type of glaze brushed through and then a strip added here and there.
