Hey flowerpot,
I'm wondering how your yummy sounding crumble turned out. Did you leave any leftovers for me? Now that summer is here, I won't be doing so much baking as we don't have air conditioning, so I'll have to live with other people's pleasures for a bit.
Thanks LobotoMe, that's just what I'm looking for. I will let you know how my crisp turns out. Have to get some more rhubarb.
Flowerpot.
This is too weird, as I'm making apple crisp right now. I don't use oatmeal in my crisps so some might call it an apple crumble.
Crumble topping:
3/4 brown sugar
3/4 sifted flour
1/3 cup margarine
Mix all of these together and spread over the apples, or whatever filling.
I'm lazy and don't bother sifting the flour, and it still works out very nicely.
If you like, you can also add chopped nuts to the mixture which gives it a slightly different taste and texture. I do both... always depends on how I feel or if I even have nuts around.
Yes Sweetpea I too have that recipe(or kind of recipe as you say),I was hoping someone had one without the oatmeal in it. I am going to look on the net.

Flowerpot....I make apple crisp and a crumble top for pies but I don't measure...I just crumble a chunk of butter or margarine with oatmeal brown sugar and a few sprinkles of flour....(.I'm sure someone will have an actual recipe) .....I have been doing this for yrs and just know by the texture if it is ok.It shouldn't be too moist ,it should be fairly dry a crumbly..... :)
