Hi there,
I'm looking for ideas/opinions on how best to install laminate flooring on the landing at the top of my solid oak staircase. The floor at the top is currently carpet that needs to be replaced (torn up by a thunder-crazed dog). I also have a s short railing at the top to one side. If I lay laminate, do I need a 'T' strip between the nosing at the top and the new laminate floor? Any other transitions possible?
Thanks

You want a transition piece there if for no other reason than protecting the edges of your wood and laminate. You can get them at Rona or HD in wood and then stain them to match. Keep it as low as possible though so people don't trip over it.
