Thanks for the quick response! I saw the utility knife/glue idea too, but I was not paying attention, and couldn't even remember where I had seen it. Thanks for reminding me; I am sure that would work with these blinds. Can't wait to go get 'em!

I bet you could take them to the home improvement store and have them cut it for you. :-) Ours are great like that. They'll do anything for a customer.
i should have been paying more attention but on the designer guys steven sabados did just that. i assume you are talking about the bamboo rollup blinds? if so,he just used a sharp utility knife and cut the excess off alongside a sturdy (metal) ruler - a level would work too plus you are guaranteed a straight line. as for the edges - this is where i should have paid more attention - i believe he just brushed glue on the ends to prevent fraying. use something that dries clear and will not discolour the blinds. hope this helps :)
p.s don't forget to put on your safety goggles :P
