We just pulled in the driveway a week later than planned. We were going to head back into BC from Idaho but changed our minds. Unless we have to be somewhere because of a family obligation we often don't make up our minds where we're going until we're at the first stop sign and then just pick a direction. Every morning is another decision. There was nothing that said we had to be back here until tomorrow so we took off to see the dinosaur remains in Drumheller. Thought of all the Calgary forum folks when we drove through the city on Saturday and Sunday. It really is growing. We've always gone through on the #1 and this time were on #8 going over to Canmore - just love that little town. I couldn't get over the size of the homes in the new communities along #8. Even the super monster size houses were practically right on top of each other.
Jeep - I was in Kellogg Idaho when I checked in. We've stopped there a couple of times now. Dawn - I didn't find anything great in the antique store though last time I bought a small bowl. They seem to be gutting all the old buildngs on Main Street to service all the new ski development and condos. Next time will probably have some trendy new stores that I can't afford. I really like stores and towns with local flavour. LOL - I just said that but spend most of the few dollars I did spend at the Wal-Mart in Missoula. Gads who in their right mind hauls home cans of Mexican food? The customs inspector asked me that once - "can't you buy beans in Canada?" Yeah, but they're not as spicey. I didn't buy a thing for me - not even a pair of shoes. Oh well ok I just remembered my new purse. I'd being looking for it in Canada and they didn't have the size XS I wanted. I'd given up on it and out of the blue spotted it in a shoe store window in Washington. So I guess I did something for myself.
Jenjen - did you get new bedding? I saw a black and white design comforter for $60 in Target. I can't find it on their site to show it to you. In may be an in-store item only. So if you get to the US check out Target. I didn't find what I'm looking for yet.
We like to take the roads less travelled if we can. The #1 west today was awful. Today was the only long day we put in. Averaged 225 km a day. If the places were closer together I'd do less than that. I love stopping and looking around in little towns. I let dh do his power hikes while I browse. I think I'd be content to do 25 km a day if they'd build these places closer together.
It's great to be home but I was sorta thinking of a couple of days next week or so. Haven't mentioned this to DH yet. The laundry is in the washer but the RV is covered with bugs. I'll suggest it when everything is clean again. :D Summers are too short.
Now back to my reading.
