I would like to get rid of the many apples that have fallen from the apple tree in my backyard. They are not edible and composting is not an option. They smell bad and are attracting all kinds of pests. Any suggestions?

Your best bet for getting rid of unwanted fallen apples would be to use a rake or a specialty rake, such as this one from Lee Valley (http://www.leevalley.com/en/garden/page.aspx?p=57716&cat=2,44821&ap=1) to pick up the apples. Your local garden centre or nursery might also have some good ideas for removing the apples.
