Washer/dryer single unit

Has anyone ever used these single unit washer/dryers? They've been used in Europe for a long time - maybe you tried one there. I was thinking I saw one in the pic of someone here's kitchen not too long ago. For one or two people this might be the way to go.

one in their fifth wheel, and mother seems to like it well enough, although I hink she still takes big things (probably washes her comforter abaout once a month!) to the laundromat.

I wonder how you have to adapt. I use that trip from washer to dryer to sort out the things that are not going in the dryer (which is most of my clothes if they are cotton) and to make sure any stains came out before they get dried. A person could be toast if a colour ran and then everything got dried.

Otherwise they sure look like a good efficient use of space.

Interesting to hear two different points of view. With more empty nesters around maybe these will be more popular and better quality. Wonder what the different brands were. I'd like to hear from Manolo.

When we went to Florida last spring, the condo we rented had a washer/dryer combo. I did not like it at all, it took too long to dry the clothes. I was only doing "summer" clothes, and it took about 1 1/2 hrs for just underwear and socks (3 people), and after 2 hours for T-shirts and shorts, I still had to hang them in around the condo to finish drying.

A few years ago we met someone who bought one for her condo, and she really loved it. She lived alone, but I think it could work for a small family.

The space saving factor is most appealing. Having one of those could free-up a lot of space in laundry rooms, allowing the room to perhaps become more multi-task. Too, it is ideal for those who wish to move the laundry space from basement to upstairs. I've had laundry appliances in my kitchen before, and I'm thinking this unit would make that work so much better than having a washer/dryer pair.

the first one i ever saw was made by LG....and they were demonstrating it on one of the home decor shows...........they said they are great for just a couple or perhaps one child..........when my kids are all moved out, it is the way im going, ecspecially if we still live in this small house.
