rather than drive a car that everytime i'm in it i will be thinking about how much they screwed me over and lied to me...sometimes it costs to learn a new lesson...and this lesson is costing us $500 which is better than a $28,000 lesson...i did my own research and called the saleswoman that sold DH his pick up in May and asked her if they were offering the 0% financing on the PT and it turns out that all delearships are offering 0% financing on certain vehicles...well Ontario Chrysler lied to us and told us that that was something that only THEY offered to their customers at cost to the dealership...so i sent them an email regarding ''Liquidated Damages''...which is basically they can keep whatever it cost to get the car ready for me...which since they didn't have the exact vehicle that i wanted and was quoted the cost that they are gonna try and keep should me minimal...so to h**l with them...they can keep their car...besides the other dealership/saleswoman i called can get me the exact same car for $2000 cheaper with all the incentives and promotion...so even if i do loose the $500 deposit...i'm still ahead $1500...i just don't think that i would be able to drive that car...what do you guys think...i haven't threaten with any lawyers cuz there is no point...it would end up costing more than $500...what would you do?

zephyr...i don't mind at all...actually i would appreciate it...lol...they need to learn that they can't get away with this kinda stuff...it makes wonder how many people bought cars from there because they felt they HAD TO...ya...not me...anyone that wants to email them please feel free to do so...the more the better.....
So, since they are making you pay the $70 for gas that means it's yours, right? I say you show up at the dealership with a syphon(sp?) and take the gas home with you! Whatever! I HATE car people.
If you don't mind, I will also send them an email. I will DEFINITELY never buy a car from them and I'll be sure to spread the word around for you too!
this is the email i just recieved from them about the liquidated damages...i like how they say ''they decided to cancel the agreeement''...and i want the lock nuts cuz they will fit my PT and holy s**t $70 in gas...where the h*ll did they get the car from Cambodia?...lol...the car only hold $30 a tank...

thanks dragonlady for letting me know about the PDI thing...i'll be sure to let them know about it...
here is the email address at Ontario Chrysler incase anyone wants to let them know that they won't be purchasing a vehicle from them...
info@ontariochrysler.net
bboyd@ontariochrysler.net ...this one is the vice president at the dealership...feel free to let them know that you are aware of how they treat people.....
Wouldn't it be great if we could all walk in there like Julie Roberts did in Pretty Woman and say, "You work on commission right? Big mistake! BIG mistake" Look at all the buyers you have turned away.
I almost feel like moving to Ontario and going in there to buy a car just so I could do that.
I wonder if they have an email address. I would love for some of us to write a note explaining that because of the way they treat customers (you) we will not be considering one of their products...... and cc Chrysler Canada.
Good for you Jen.
Good, I'm glad it has all worked out. It shouldn't be so hard just to buy a car.
I was just thinking about it a bit more and if they seemingly owned your car....then why did they need a deposit?
Also, if the new car was at another dealership, then it probably has already had a pre-delievery inspection (PDI) or safety as they are calling it.
I almost find these guys amusing they're so tacky.
dragonlady...thank you so much for you advice...see and they thought they were dealing with a lady...HA!!!...i showed them...lol...you should have heard me screaming at the new car salesman...he wouldn't let me talk...so i told you listen to me i'm talking right now...and told him that he better give me my ownership that they obtained without my permission...then i hung up on him...lol...the dealership that we are gonna go to DH bought his pickup from them and May and it's where i bought my PT that i have right now...they are really good to deal with...we went with Ontario Chrysler cuz they told us that they were the only ones offering the 0% deal...otherwise i would have just gone to the other dealership...
well after contacting the Better Business Bureau, Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council, the Ministry of Transportation and the vice-president of Ontario Chrysler...the sales manager called me to let me know that they will be calculating the liquidated damages which is their cost for bringing the car to them and the safety for it...they will refund me my deposit less those fees...i let the vice-president of the dealership know that we were repeatedly lied to and that i did not appreciate his staff member telling me that i had to take the car or else they would put a lien on the car and that they owned the car that they had the ownership on the car so it was their car....i also informed him that any attempts to change over the car into their name would result in fraud charges against them...and that i don't appreciate being threatened with lawyers since i never stated that i would involve my lawyer...and that if they did not resolve this matter in a civilized way that i would contact news stations and the newspaper and City Tv's Silverman helps...i offered to spend an extra $1500 that i was saving on buying the car somewhere else to give them some advertising...so i think something might have worked...thanks to everyone that helped me out with this giving me suggestions...much appreciated
Jenjen,
If the agreement doesn't even have the VIN on the new car and the new car is not in your possession, then don't even answer the phone when they call.
If they want your car, they can come to your house and get it. In other words, they would have to get keys cut (providing they have the VIN of your car), find your car, go on your property to get it, and they would probably have to hire a sherriff to do it.
Don't let them bully you or scare you.
Have you tried talking to the actual owner of the dealership? I can assure you he wouldn't want to know that his staff are doing things illegally. You could tell him that you just wanted to let him know how disappointed you are and how unprofessional the entire deal was. You could also say that you are aware that these people make their livings off commission entirely, but that is no excuse for treating you the way they did. Maybe he should look at cleaning house there if his sales staff is so lame that they have to resort to lying and fraud.
You may also want to point out how many people you have told not to buy vehicles there. Tell him you were happy to do him more than $500 worth of bad advertising for your money.
Make sure you check out the new dealership you are going to. Quite often one person or group will own several dealerships. You wouldn't want to give money to the same people all over again.
Just don't take the car back to them. They haven't paid you for it.
don't let them walk all over you - if they were pressuring you to sign on the spot, I'd say that was a clue about how bad they were.
Many, many years ago we had a really bad dealership in town, and one guy parked his car - legally - on the street in front of the dealership with signs on it saying lemon etc.; dealership called the police, who couldn't - or wouldn't ! - do anything !!! the local papers, did, however, get wind of it and said dealership got loads of free publicity - of the wrong kind !
dragonlady...i could use your smarts right now...they won't let me out of the deal even tho' i told them to keep the $500 and shove it...and they went to the ministy and got a replacement copy of my ownership and now are telling me that i HAVE to take the car and that they own my trade cuz they have the ownership...but DH never signed the back of the ownership over to them...i also found out that this dealership will forge signatures to be able to transfer the car over to them...i let them know that i am aware of this and any and all attempts to transfer my car over will result in fraud charges against them...the mto says that they don't own my car and can't do that and OMVIC says that as long as i am aware that i will loose my deposit i should and have the right to cancel the agreement...which right now goes beyond $500 it comes down to principle that they are a bunch of &^&%%^&* thieves...any advice for me...i would really appreciate it...thanks
Jenjen, you could also try something like W5. They feature car rip-offs all the time.
Good for you. Like was said previously, even though you are out the $500 you are actually money ahead by getting a better deal somewhere else.
Time for some new shoes, I would say!
thanks Foxxy i will check them out.....

ONTARIO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE SUCKS!!!!!
Good for you! If they want to keep your money and be unscrupulous so be it. You are still up $1500 and can go about doing your best to ruin their reputation with everyone you know. I would fax them a copy of the bill to let them know just how badly they tried to rip you off. Good for DH trying to redeem himself by letting the $500 go. NOw maybe some flowers? Hmmm. :D
hey Claudia...yup i did just that...i sent a letter to Chrysler Canada...i sent one to OMVIC which is Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council...which i think is gonna fall on deaf ears cuz i think they are run and organized by dealerships...but i also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about them...the only thing left to do is take out a full page add in the Toronto Sun and give them a lil advertising....lol.. :D
send a letter to Chrysler Canada outlining everything that happened.
Thanks for the warning about the dealership, I will be sure to avoid it.
