Hey all, today I got on the scale and discovered that about 15 of the original 25 lbs I've lost in the past couple of years has made a comeback....and I'm not happy!!! Then I did something I've been thinking about doing for a long time....joined WW online. I'm really really hoping that keeping track of my food/activity will make an impact. Does anyone here have any experience with WW online?? Care to share??

Thanks,
a much chubbier Mel

A lot if my friends have done it with great success.
Portion control, exercise (even just walking) is key.

I joined the online WW last year and also signed up for the 3 month package. What I found to be the most helpful was the record keeping. I kept track of what I was eating which of course forced me to recognize exactly how much or what I did eat during the day. Seems silly but I think the mere fact of writing down what you eat had a great impact on me. The other part I liked was recording my exercise and then seeing the effect it had on my caloric intake for the day. So....after doing my daily walk of 45 minutes, up and down hills, I could easily treat myself to my glass of red wine out on my deck!!! :D

I have never done WW online but I am a WW Leader at meetings. I lost my weight last year with WW and have been a Lifetime member since January this year and have worked for them since March. I really believe in WW and have learned to eat the right foods and the right amount. If you follow their program and track what you eat and stay within your daily limit you will lose for sure. Good Luck.

I used to use the excuse of not having time for the gym too but I decided to make it a priority and it is only 30 minutes 3 times a week which is pretty easy to fit in if you want to, even if you got up 30 minutes earlier on those days. It's actually a lot of fun. I know when ladies would tell me how much they enjoyed it I thought they were either lying to me or they were brainwashed but it's a different experience than going to a regular gym.
I'll probably have to do this for the rest of my life though, I kind of hate that I've become one of "those" people.

I've joined the Online years ago. I chose the 3 month plan, works out cheaper. I stuck to it and lost 15lb in 3 months. I find it helped a huge amount having the online available as I could quickly check points for a meal, or if we were going out to eat, I knew what to chose from the menu beforehand.
I liked that I knew how much I had eaten for the day, and if I had earned any extra point for a treat by doing gardening or cycling etc.
I also used it to write in my own personal recipes, and could find out the point value, like grandma's best chicken pie, for example.

I am on the online plan again, actually, but I must confess, I signed up during very stressful times of selling our house and then staying at friends for a week (no house), and then moving into new house. So for too many weeks, I didn't have the computer hooked up, and I have not gone back. My online expires next week, so I'm going to try to continue by myself when I have unpacked and feel more settled.
But just those 2 months I did stick to it, I lost 8lbs.

So I say YES to Online, it does help to keep me on track. And I find I dont think about food all day (which I hate), because it is all worked out for you online, and you know what your next meal is.

I dont go to the meetings though. Never felt like I fitted in there.

Good luck!

Pearl, I know the things I should and shouldn't eat too....but it doesn't stop me. I'm hoping that by actually imputting my points (foods eaten) on a daily basis, it'll make me feel like I'm owning up to what I actually eat. Does that make sense? I'm giving it a try for 3 months...we'll see what happens.

Arizona, no time for Curves for me...but I'm soooooo happy for you and your weight loss!! And your attitude is exactly right, eat what makes you happy and if you have to work a little harder to keep the weight off...then so be it.

I have a lovely eliptical in the basement that I haven't gotten on in weeks and weeks and weeks...till today. I did 25 mins and burned almost 250 calories...and I feel really good about it. Problem is, I'm back to work tomorrow and trying to fit in the time for exercising is really hard. But, this time I'm really serious about it. None of my cute clothes that i bought last year (after getting "skinny") fit properly anymore. I'm sick of looking in all the damn mirrors at work (picture a typical Bowring store) and seeing a great big muffin top. Ewwwwwwwww.

Anyway, I'm hoping someone on here has WW experience they can share with me.

:)Mel

No experience with your WW question but I just wanted to mention that I have been going to Curves since January and I have lost 25lbs so far. I can't say I have been dieting either with all the ice cream and pie I have been eating this summer. It's really bad for someone trying to loose weight but to be honest, this is what I like to eat so if it means I gotta go to Curves 3 X a week then I guess it's a small price to pay.
