DH just finished building his bar on Thurs & we christined it in Fri nite with a few friends- what a time! With the help of his brother, they completed it in about a week and a half - working in the evenings. HIs brother in law built the back bar one morning while he was home on holidays. Got the swivel stools for a good price (i think) 2 for $69. Still need some moulding on the front, and some shelves & a mirror on the back bar. But it is funtionable!

back bar in progress - shelf DH built before he went away for a week. The bar is coming along nicely. Lights I have picked out for the bar are going on sale in 2wks at canadain tire - now just have to find a mirror.
posted looking for pics of bars before we started, but didn't get too many responses - but still woulnd't mind seeing a few if there are any out there, especially those with a back bar.

not really sure what type of mirror - any suggestions! Thought about the sticky glass tiles & quickly decided againt that. I am by no means a do-it-yourselfer - but I think, with the help of DH- maybe we would make our own. We would like to have some more shelves up the side for display & mabe a wine rack, etc... although I am a beer girl myself! Love the shooters too!
What a fantastic job they did on that bar. I would be giddy with all of that extra cupboard space. What kind of mirror are you considering?
forgot to put in a drawer for utensils! Oh well.
good idea on DH's part - this corner was dead space, so he cut out a spot for the ice bucket.
like I said - need some shelves and a mirror & some more bar stock!
