Have you reached the point of 'just maintenance' (keeping up with watering and weeds) or are you still doing stuff in your garden?
I'm still out there doing stuff. Just last week I decided I added enough new perennials to my new big curvy border out back, and filled the blank spots with 2 flats of impatients. I guess that one's done for this year. I will probably get a few more perennials and shrubs in that one next year. Then there's a triangular bed in the back that is not quite colourful enough-mostly yellow and white now, and the yellow in the small sunflowers is not so good because they are not happy there-oh well! Both these gardens are still new this year, and will change a lot next year. I'm using space in back of each of them for rows of black hollyhocks I began from seed indoors in May. I won't find out if I have success with those until next year, when I may move some around and share some with others.
Today I was extending an area I put the first of three new clematis in, a new shade garden I was itching to start. I've removed all the turf and I just have to turn it over some more before I mound up with a bit more dirt and get a few more plants in there. It's in the back also, inside the gate.
The front garden borders have been a bit neglected in the past few weeks as I've spent most time in the back-I've only planted a few new things there. Most time up front has been spent moving things around. I have a couple of iberis to lift out and de-weed......not looking forward to that but I have to do it.
I'll probably get around to pictures pretty soon-guess I'll try the member albums here. How about everyone else? How are you keeping busy in your garden?
