that are thicker rimmed and they are better to withstand the grubs and other bugs that plague them sometimes. I like the blue varieties - they get honking big!!!
it's called....Hosta undulata Variegata...not sure of the common name...if i find it i will let you know...this is a close up...just to make sure is this what they look like up close?
Your hostas are very easily divided...now is good. Carefully lift them up and look at the base. You can usually find a good place to divide when you lift the clump and check the base where they grow from. Use a sharp spade and have a watered hole ready. In a couple of days they look like they have been there forever.
I love hostas too...but not sure which one that is...sorry.
I also saw the ones at costco and they were about 10.99 for a really good size and I think they might have had ones that looked like yours.
If you take a leaf to your garden center to inquire what type yours is...make sure you take it in a sealed jar...I have heard they frown upon bringing things in...not as much for a question like yours...but more so if someone was bringing something diseased in to ask what it is wrong with their plant...just thought I would mention that.:)
there are so many varieties of hostas that I think I'd be tempted to cut a leaf and take it to a garden centre to see if they could find the exact variety.
You might also see the other varieties that would compliment the ones you have.
I think I have about 16 hostas and they all have things about them I like. The nice thing is they look nice beside each other too.
BTW if you have a Costco near by, I noticed some huge hostas there for a very good price when I was there last week.
www.bowdenhostas.com has lots of pics, listed alphabetically. Check out White Feather while you're there. (It's an all-white one that turns green later-how cool is that!)
(At first I thought it was Patriot, but I think I'm wrong.)
