Hi,

This year, i found 3 spiky plants growing out of my flower bed, close to my two siberian iris. Can anyone identify this plant for me. I have attached a far and close view of this tall spiky plants (pink buds - not really flower - similar to liatris but it's not liatris).....thank you so much.

I had it in my gardens as well. I thought it was pretty until I realized it was a weed.

Hi Foxxy,

Thanks for the reply. I surfed the internet right away after your reply and found lots of articles about it and way to identify if it's indeed that type.

I have immediately got rid of it as it appears to be a very aggressive weed instead.

Thanks again and hope it won't come back to my garden again. But if it does, i won't fertilize it like i did this year :)

Could it be one of the loosestrife variety ? Not the purple, but there are others that are safe. If I find anyhting I will post it for you.
