Where do you shop for clothes?

I have become very wary of where to buy clothes, as I am finding most clothes are made in china, and they ALL shrink when I wash them, in a sneaky kind of way too!
They don't shrink on the first or second wash, but by the 5th wash they shrink about 2-3inches! This is infuriating me.

All my clothes have sleeves that are hovering between my wrist and elbow, and too short by my waist.
They fitted perfectly when I bought them. And I haven't grown taller, just in case you were wondering!
I wash in cold water, and then tumble dry on cool. But don't iron, should I be?

Where do you buy your clothes and are they also shrinking?

My Dh jeans have also shrunk by 2 inches in the length, I mean really, it's insane.

have come to realize, it really doesnt matter where i have bought my clothes or the girls clothes....some fabrics are just horrible anymore...they have some tees that can go in the dryer and many hang to dry....i shop walmart, zellers, old navy and many of the stores that you find in the malls

I find that most cotton t-shirts either have sneaky lycra or spandex stuff in them, or they are woven in such a way that they are clingy to the body. This does not suit me at all, as I have a couple of trouble spots (o.k. ROLLS) that I am not trying to showcase. I've never purchased rib-knit t's for this reason, and trying to find t-shirts that are 'normal' is tough. I've been struggling with this new technology for at least 5 years now, and I found even the work t-shirts at Mark's Work Wearhouse that I purchased for my husband have that cling, and he doesn't like it either. Checking the label doesn't help as lots of this stuff states it is 100% cotton. The Sears catalogue had some nice Nike and Reebok t-shirts that I ordered for him, and the quality is very nice and without that cling we hate.

What I call normal 100%cotton t-shirts usually get shorter and wider after several washings. My husband is tall so what I do is pull/stretch those when I transfer them from the washer to the dryer. This helps some.

Recenly I purchased a pair of jeans from Sears that had a touch of lycra for stretch for my husband. They were supposed to be comfy, casual pants with the look of regular jeans. They shrunk in length noticeably, and they also had a feel to them that made him think they were falling down when he wore them without a belt. We tossed them.

I think it's a trend in manufacturing, not a matter of where the clothes are made. I used to buy a lot of my clothes from Reitmans, but their t-shirts (and most other tops) have been the clingy type for the last several years so I don't buy as much from them anymore. I emailed them with my feedback at their website, but I don't expect things will change as the skin-skimming stuff is pretty popular with the majority.

It is difficult to find what you want without it being made in other countries. I find

nice things and the description usually tells you where it was made. Many of their items are USA made and not imported.

You can order items tailored made to your measurements as well...of course they are not returnable and shipping is naturally longer.

I have ordered from them and have been satisfied with the quality...no shrinking of any item so far. ( jeans, cotton T's, blouses) They ship quickly and returns are not a hassle either. Yes they are US dollars but often it is worth it.
You should ask for a free catalogue. The "over stock" section often has good bargains as well. :)
