Who's seen Walk The Line??

We watched Walk The Line last night. I can't decide if I liked it or not. I found the whole drug thing distrurbing -- but the movie depicts Johnny Cash's real life, and I guess drugs were a big part of it. Is there some sort of unwritten rule that musicians HAVE to be drug-addicted beer-drinking sex fiends?!? Yikes!!

That being said, I think Joaquin Phoenix was more deserving of an Oscar than Reese Witherspoon. The're both good in the movie, but I think the role of Johnny Cash was a lot harder to play.

YES. That's why I don't know if I liked the movie. Even though Johnny & June ended up getting married and being toegther for 35 years, the part of their lives depicted in the movie was totally not what I expected. I felt so bad for his first wife. And I guess in a way, bad for him too for succumbing to the typical musician life style. And for June, who stood by him throughout his addiction. I assume that in they end, their lives together were happy and good. But the bad stuff was hard to watch.

And on a totally different topic... homebody, your tubo-sl*t line cracked me up!! :biglol:

Sorry Jen I am going to have to disagree I loved the movie but he is so NOT HAWT!!! I also think Jonny Dep is ugly and Orlando B what ever his last name is... I find them all rather creepy looking.

I would say he is not on the top of the hot list, but he is SEXY. It's in his expressions. If dh loked at me like that (or sang like that), he would get so lucky so fast, his head would spin.

I'll take that as a compliment!

I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed this film! I think Joaquim Pheonix made the movie what it was! What a hottie! :) I too have watched it an endless amount of times, listened to the soundtrack on my way to work, and have driven my husband crazy! Each time it's playing on satelite, he cannot touch the romote!

Glad to hear I'm not alone!

Joaquim Phoenix makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck -- I loathe the guy. Not that he didn't do a good job in Walk the Line -- but come up to Johnny Cash's stature PLEASE. I think a lot of you ladies are too young to remember Johnny baby in his prime -- now that was hot. Good flick, tho'.

One of my favourite movies! I loved this movie! Watched it several times. Joaquin is so sexy when he sings. I agree he should have got the Best Actor instead of that other guy from Capote (wasn't that great).

I downloaded the music from the movie from itunes. I much prefer Joaquin's voice to Johnny Cash, lol. Joaquin's is deep and sexy, and better recorded.
Real pick me up songs 'if you get the blues'...la alala lalala lalala
