wine or champagne suggestions

I'm going to a shower.....the bride has registered for wine glasses, champagne glasses.....I'm thinking of buying her a set of either the red wine glasses or the champagne glasses and then buying a nice bottle of either red wine or champagne/or a very nice sparkling. I'd hate to buy them a bottle only to find out later that it wasn't that good...any suggestions would be appreciated......thanks!!

I'm printing this off and taking it to our lcbo and see which ones they normally carry.

My all time favourite cabernet is Kenwood. Not sure if you can get it in Canada, but if you can it is a must try.

Nice wine list you have there Wolf Blass is the best but the Yellow Tail is very popular and a great price point.

My mind is foggy today but I believe it is called Yellowtail or Yellow label. It is a very nice Australian red. (has a kangeroo on it)
For a nice champagne it will be quite pricey....I would go with the red.
