happened last to us last night. DH and I were sitting on the front porch after supper last night, and a strange car pulled up in front of the house; a woman got out and asked us if she could take a picture of the house. Well, we must have looked a little perplexed, because she then said she lives in Texas now but grew up in our house !

As many of you may remember, we only bought the house in September and totally gutted bathroom and kitchen and sligtly changed the layout of LR DR etc.; we also have a stained glass panel in the front door that has an inscription on it, and we have been SOOOO interested in the history of the house !

The long and short of it is that we invited her, her DD, her DD's DH and DD's two kids in to see the house and she is e-mailing me pictures of the house when she was young !! and I will e-mail her pictures of what I have, too !

I thought that was really cool, and was very excited ! Imagine, she had baths in my bathtub 30-odd years ago! And now we know the kitchen cupboards we took out had been there since the mid-50s !

It would be neat to have someone do that, especially if you lived in a very old old house. What stories the walls could tell!!:D

That is always fun to hear about your house from someone that has lived there. My MIL is 97 and last year we took her around to the house she had built for her when she got married in 1935 they lived in it until 1958. The people were also very excited to talk with her and they gave her some picutres and she gave them some pictures. They were not the people that had bought it from her so they were surprized to see the changes that had been made to the house.
