I was wondering if it makes sense to ask deco questions on here or is this site just for chit chat and if a picture is sent then a deco reponse is given? Is this how this site works, Thinking of moving out of this site it's a lot to read at times that are not deco related but more family related. Please no offense intended at all just wondering.

no offense taken.....the decorating and design is normally where we will post our pics and questions and at times even if we cant help we will still post and make comments on the persons room....i always like to acknowledge when i see a job well done or something that looks nice...and once in a while we will forget and post something on the wrong board
then there is Free for all and there you can post anything you wish....and sometimes we do seem like a family, now personally i dont mind that as we speak so often about home decor, that sometimes we just need to vent our more personal things in life....sometimes i think just needing a ear....i feel there is a great bunch on here so i have no problem with that
i find this site is easy to keep up compared to some i have been on, then again im checking it out everyday lol.........we would love to see you stick around but if you are not comfortable than the decision is yours

Well, the decor questions are geneally kept in the decorating and design forum with the other forums being used (usually, hopefully) for other things as appropriate.
How are you entering the forums? If you are going with 'new posts' you will get every new post, regardless of the forum. You can check on the 'new posts' list (the right side column) and see which forum the thread is from which can help. For instance I am rarely interested in the food type threads so I just don' t read the threads from that forum whether I am in 'new posts' or cruising each forum. If you want to concentrate on the decor questions you might want to just enter that forum directly and see if that makes a difference to you.
Sure sometimes some other stuff seeps into the wrong forum, but generally you can avoid the ones you aren't interested in by keeping an eye on the forum name and post titles.
