OK

I assume you are meaning a hardwood with a cherry colour. The best thing to do it to grab a handful of sample planks from your flooring store and move them throughout the house. Are you attached to the oak everywhere else? How is it stained? Are you considering painting some of it? A pic would be helpful for sure, it makes it easier to see what the room will look like.
Mara :)
A neighbour has cherry flooring, boy do they regret that expensive decision. It marked up very quickly. And when I say marked up I mean it got gouges in it after 2 months. Cherry is not a hardwood.
You would be better off with a hardwood for durability in a cherry stain. If you like the grain of oak go oak but maple would be nice too.
as decorating challenged as I am I was kind of thinking of a cherry wood. Can you mix different kinds of woods?? I will try getting pictures on later today.
Welcome Kasey.....If you could post a picture that would help...You can't go wrong with a medium shade of wood....What kind of wood floor are you thinking of installing? :)
Sorry. I have carpet in my living room, and laminate flooring in my kitchen, which needs to be taken out also. My baseboards, fireplace, stairway and kitchen cabinates are oak.
I am confused ?? Do you mean you have oak floors throughout? where is the carpet??
