Is the rule to match your wooden blinds to the trim? I am getting wooden blinds for our bedroom and just wondering about that...I don't really want white and that is the colour of our trim but then if i was to go with a light taupe or something would they just look funny?

i matched mine to the trim...i have pine trim though...but i would say go with whatever feels and looks right for you and your room...you are the one that has to live with it
I'm of two minds here. It seems that when blinds match the (white) trim that it looks big and boxy and takes away from other elements in the room (we don't want our blinds to be the most prominent thing in the room do we?). I've seen them match the hardwood floor which looks very nice, or to match the wall which also looks nice, and less obtrusive. That said, its often difficult to match them to wall colours, and sometimes to floor colouring. In that case I would match them to the trim. I've gone the same decision to make in my living room. I have 4 side-by-side windows to put blinds on (the windows are not particularly attractive but the view is). I think to go white would just over power the room, so I'm thinking of matching the hardwood to make them recede a bit.
We matched ours with the trim - white - and it looks great - doesn't matter what colour your walls, they'll stand out really nicely!
I would match them to the trim or else your eye will stop at the trim, and stop at the blinds, instead of just absorbing the whole effect.
