(deep breathe - all in one sentence) Finally convinced DH to go to Toronto, so we're going for the "day", this Thursday. We've got to get to Canvas gallery to pick up a purchase. But, I also want to swing by your place too. Question that I had was...about 100years ago you mentioned a Danish bakery/restaurant that your mom goes to, not far from your store. Do you have the name? address? I'd love to go there when in Toronto. My farmor passed away almost 11 years ago now, and I haven't had any good traditional fare in a loooong time. I appreciate it.

I left a message for my brother last night, saying he was missing out because he doesn't live close to me. He called this morning saying he was going to be in my area on "business" - sure!

I am pretty sure I was there then though if you saw a lot of people... I had just returned from a fabric shopping excursion! Next time ask if I am there and say hello or I will call the bakery and revoke your privileges...ooohhh redhead meanstreak huh?

I swear it! We were there around 11am, but I didn't see you and everyone looked very busy so did not want to interrupt. We didn't go to the Pastry place until after we were there and well okay, we're piggies! LOL DH had his first Vienabrod and his initial reaction upon seeing it was "it's just strudel" - nopers.... he's hooked. Haha - my evil plan to get to Toronto more often has been engaged!

I was there for most of the day... okay except this morning but I was there for the rest of the day... I was in a computer stupor trying to get the bloody network to work, the printer to work, upload a file and resolve the fact that both Word and Excel seem to crash whenever I try to open an existing file...

Oh and my Outlook is completely buggered....

I'm glad to know that you got to see some of the new vignettes I pulled together since late yesterday...I haven't overhauled the studio in a bit and well redoing the whole place seemed in order!

Oh and where was MY Danish Pastry?

Wow! DH and I had a good peek around your lovely store today. It was very nice. Little Red is very friendly and a lovely welcome to the store. I *loved* the two tier mirror table that you have on casters...however, DH rolled his eyes at me. What does he know? LOL

I feel silly now because I could have googled that - for some reason I had in my mind that it had a particular name, not necessarily with Danish in it. Thank you very much. Perhaps we'll run across each other on Thursday, however I know you are very busy- out and about town.

you would think that considering it is named after MY GRANDFATHER... I would have remembered the name of it. Here you go:

but the bakery you want is up on O'Connor/Pape - I don't have the name - my mom is on holidays or I could call her for it. I will do a search and see if I can find the name.

Neither of those sound particularly Danish to *me*, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I would very much like to have some traditional foods - anything I've tried making myself, doesn't ever turn out quite right. I guess this comes from not having a Danish mother, just a Danish father. Hindsight is 20/20, but of course now I wish I'd hung out with my dad's mother more in the kitchen!

Brick Street Bakery or Balzac's both sell pastry in the Distillery District. :)
