I recently recieved a white hand tufted wool area carpet for my bedroom that was recently cleaned in excellant condition, however it has an odor of wet sheep. I send it out to be cleaned telling the company the prpblem it came back still smelling but not as bad. Has any had this problem before and do you know of a solution. I really love the carpet.

It sounds like "maybe" the backing never completely dried at some point. when being washed. I would put it outside in the sun, with the backing side up faning the sun and let it air out for a few days. If you have a table outside place on that. What country is it from? as sometimes they spray the rugs with a pesticide in the containers before they are shipped. Try that and then try sprinking dry baking soda over it, leave it over night and vacuum. Good luck :)
