well come September we've been here 2 years...obviously the first few months we were here we didn't need it...but last summer the house was great without air...as long as i kept my living room windows open there was a perfect breeze that would come in...this year HOLY CRAP!!!....wha happen...i couldn't handle it anymore...i swear if i didn't have kids i would be running around nekked!!!....it's just been wayyyy to hot here this year...it took them 4 hours to install it....and within an hour you could feel the difference...we had to get it....DS #2 has asthma...so his breathing has been way out of wack...it's not too often that i have to give him is nebulizer machine in the summer....it's bad enough i have to give it to him 4 times a day in the winter...the poor guy...and DH has problem with his knees...so the humidity was killing him...he could barely get up in the morning...there are some things that you just HAVE to have...A/C...coffee machine...a pool boy...oops...did i just say that out loud..... :D
I hear ya! Last year I worked from home the entire summer without AC and it was fine. This year I haven't been at home that much because of my job and yet it was torture without AC. The final straw was when my son had a huge fever of 104.6 in the middle of a heat wave and we couldn't cool him down. We had to spend our time in the car to get AC! So that was it; we got the central air unit last weekend and I'm soooo happy!!!! I'm so glad my DH finally gave in, LOL. Ah, so comfortable.
Talk to you later,
I have 2 window units. But I'm determined to not use them this year ( they're still in the shed). I'm a bit of a freak about the over consumption of hydro and resources.
It's so hot in my room (it's in the attic, so it's easily 10 degrees hotter up there than outside) that we've moved our mattress into the living room- right below the ceiling fan, in the middle of a cross breeze from the windows. I think the worst of it's almost over, I'm going to enjoy not having to move my mattress out of the way every morning :D
girl i dont know how you did it.........congrats
now you can chill...lol

without A/C. You will learn to be as dependant as I. :D
Lucky you! I'm happy for you too.
There are days I really wish we had AC. For those extreme days alone, it would be SO WORTH IT!
I am very happy for you. I am sure you will never be able to go without again.
This is the first time we have had A/C and i don't know how we made it without. Never again.
got to love air conditioning! Wouldn't live without it, especially in the city. Crank it up and enjoy!!!
