its gone and im going shopping (monster tv) :clapping: the monster tv is in the makeshift tv room in the basement.....its not a finished room but they have thier furniture and im throwing a piece of rug on the floor and with the big tv to watch they wont even care if the walls are done :D I just knew this nook in the living room would come in handy for something.......the small tv can be still seen well from all angles and the room is also good for conversation.....and i even have room that if i turf the plant i could even add another chair someday...........dont mind the room, im still working on lots of tweaking, including putting the curtains on rings as they are a tad short.....but tonight im off to get a small tv cabinet that will fit in the nook.... :clapping: Before and After shot!

Janet if you have some of the wall paint around you could make a false back to the table (there have to be a lot of dumpsters around with pieces of drywall or plywood or some such material around if there are other houses going up). Paint the side facing the room the wall colour and just drop the cords behind between the wall and the false back.

well we put the tv on that table temporarily, however we have searched everywhere and most tv stands are far too low for a smaller tv or they were just not something we would like. So, we have decided that we are going to make use of the table that it is now sitting on, (instead of throwing it to the basement) it has a open back and you can see the cords, but im just going to stack some decorative boxes or something along those lines and that problem is taken care of and im not wasting a perfectly good table.............besides, on our travels i found an area rug, so there went money....but i love the rug and my girlfriend thinks the table should stay....so im listening to her. :D
thank you and i will take pics when i have the table done

janet, don't be complaining about the size of your room -- it doesn't have baseboard heaters and that's all that matters!!!!!! :D

Janet, that looks so much better without that monster (hey, we still have one in our family room, and that's exactly what I call it always  )

I think a TV armoire to fit in that nook will look fabulous.....good luck in finding one.

Much better Janet, that smaller TV looks fine right where it is.
Do you really need a cabinet

Yup, much better. As much as I like TV, the big one was just too big for your room.

Prior to buying rings, take a look at your hem. I had curtains that were a bit too short. I took out the hem, pressed the crease out really well and turned it up just enough to skim the floor. Then I used the iron on tape - really easy. I put weights in the corners and they hang fine.

Funny this morning I was going to bump my post about buying a HDTV up for you - didn't want you to make the same mistake I did of buying too large. Glad to see the monster head to the rec room.
