Got a third opinion.............................letting you guys know......I CAN RE-FINISH the floors in the kitchen.......have to wait 2 weeks though...the guy is really busy.....but I will keep you guys informed......I am so happy.....the floors are thick enough.....the original guy i now find out...isn't familar with old floors.....and i found a guy thanks to Suzy-To...who posted a website that gave feedback on trades...................who is...that's all he does......................I am so friggin happy......once they are done....I can order my new doors and drawers for the refacing.......by June I should have an outstanding kitchen........thank you everyone............... :applaud:

trynto.........that's such great news and what a relief for you too......just hang in there and you will soon have your kitchen the way you want it to be.
There you go! It sounds so odd when you say he can't be there for 2 weeks because he's busy. That would be record time around here.
If he's an old house guy, you might want to pump him to get the names of other trades who he's worked with who know old houses.
I guess the first one was just one of those whiney babies who has to have everything perfect, straight walls etc., basically a new build or they can't cope.
Glad you are getting the floors you want.
That is awesome your beautiful house deserves to have beautiful floors.
