What do you think of this arrangement in our newly painted hallway. We needed something in that space, but it's tricky because it's not too wide.
I used muranogirl's inspiration of the chair from Home Sense (got it for $200!) but it needed something else with it. What do you think of the vase of sticks with the chair? Does it all look ok there? Are the sticks too long?(maybe they should be shorter than the stairs above?) Any other ideas?? Thoughts are appreciated....

I really like your chair, but agree that you also need a table beside it. I have no idea whether this table is the right size but I would suggest something along these lines.........(from muranogirls post)
I'm not particularly fond of that table...........I would rather see something like the first picture pearl_girl posted, but I would paint it black to match your chair.........that's JMO
Thanks girls! Lots of great advice. I like the idea of adding a small pedestal table - what about one like this from Bombay Company?
Love that chair and it seems low enough for someone to put their shoes/boots on/off easily..........what I would like to see is a table there to place your keys on as you come in the door and put a small lamp on it. If you have enough light there, I would put a live tall plant to sit in the corner.
Great chair. Right now it looks a scrunched into the corner, like it has been pushed out of the way. Until you find a small table, could you exchange the places of the chair and vase. Pull the chair out slightly.
I agree with the girls that recommended a small table. The branches look a little out of place, or maybe too light. Maybe some darker branches or have you seen the black feathers?
And btw, I LOVE your new chair! It's so great!
I like the chair but i think the vase and branches need to be closer in to the corner so they are anchored. They may not look right even there though, you would have to try them.
Yes I agree too. I like the idea of the chair being there and like smoodgie said getting a small table sitting beside it. Maybe you could place a nice vase w/ flowers in it...something simple, you dont want to take away the look of that beautiful chair.
Maybe try placing the vase with the sticks in it on the top of your landing in the corner beside the mirror.
i second what Lasalle and smoodgie suggested....i really like the chair there and it would be handy.

I love the chair but not the vase, sorry. Can you move the chair where the vase is then place a table to the left of the chair. I guess that is the same as what smoodgie suggested. Is there an outlet there for a lamp to be placed on the table also?
a small round table preferable with a pedestal base to mirror the round back of th chair...I love the chair. :)
A table can be painted to match the black chair. These are from Sears and under $125.
What if you pull the chair forward a bit and put a small table next to it (along the railing) so you have somewhere to sit AND put your keys?? :)
mmm, I have no idea, lol. I am clueless lately. But my thoughts are, what about a bench there instead, with storage underneath a lift-up seat, and maybe two extra baskets under the bench. Too casual maybe, if you want elegant.
My thought was the chair would be a good place to sit and put your shoes on. It might keep everyone from sitting on the step and putting their grubby shoes on the step... Do you think it will work? :)
I would put the chair where you would want to use it. I'm not sure where the chair is now, if it is creating a cozy welcoming spot to sit.
Maybe a table would be better, somewhere to drop the mail and the keys.
