Zebra rug

I would like opinions on whether I should go with a black and white zebra rug or a ivory and brown zebra rug.

I have a pale beige loveseat and 2 chairs that are like a pale caramel/latte color with piping in dark chocolate brown. I have a wooden stump as a side table and a glass waterfall coffee table. My tv and tv stand are all black and the picture frames on the walls are black. I also have a mirrored chest of drawers in the living room and on the opposite side of the seating area where the rug would be is a dark rustic cubby hold room divider against one wall. I'm thinking the white and black rug would make a big statement and I've seen it used in a room that doesn't have predominate black. but I've had some comments that it wouldn't "go" and that I should stick with the ivory/brown rug. What are your thoughts.

Wow - that is great how you can do that!
I think the black and white is so much better too! Thank you so much.

Thanks everyone for their input and suggestions. This is a great forum! I'll be back I'm sure!

I was thinking about a rug with more scalloped rounded edges.

Thanks everyone for your input. I want the room to be dynamic and once I have the glass coffee table in place I think the black and white rug would really pop. I like to shake things up if I can! I'm still looking for a couple of side tables and a matching floor lamp and table lamp.

Yes I got wood table from Homesense. It was quite the steal!

this is a rental and I plan to be moving on in a year so I won't bother with painting or window treatments unless I could find curtains cheap that I could take with me. I will lower the light though - good idea.

I also have about 6 prints that I want to hang salon style either in the living room or dining room. I haven't decided yet. I'm still looking for a local piece of Graffiti art so when I do find what I want I'll start hanging up the pictures.

Either or. I tend to like the brown preference but it is screaming out for something to close and tie in the look. My eye was also drawn to the vivid patterned box on the right side of that gorgeous mirrored cabinet.

Something abstract/modern would fit as well.

Hmmmm.....that's a tough question because I think both colours will look good in your room.

Okay, I finally was able to take some photos. Here is my living room minus the glass waterfall coffeetable. It's coming though. So the question is black and white zebra or ivory and brown?

Thanks,
Jackie
