Zinsser Primer on Wood Veneered Furniture

Hello,

I'm looking to paint a set of wood veneered bedroom furniture. I've heard great things on this forum about Zinsser BIN primer, where sanding is not required prior to priming. This is great news for me ... the less mess & work the better. However, I've heard that the smell of this primer is awful. I'm a bit concerned about this as I will be painting inside the house. I've noticed from the Zinsser website that they have a new Bullseye High Hide Odourless primer. Does anyone have any experience in using this product? Would this work on wood veneered furniture?

Thanks in advance!

You might want to ask at a (good) paint store because I'm betting with veneer you had better not use a water based primer for fear of it lifting. BIN 123 might be okay but you may need to go to one of their other primers which is either oil or shellac based. I've never been bothered by the smell of BIN but paint smells aren't something I'm sensitive to anyway. Since I haven't used their other primers I can't speak to how the others smell.
