“I love Farrow & Ball’s Folly Green (76) for glossy painted floors indoors. It reminds me of freshly cut lawn and bare feet on soft cool grass,” says deputy editor Hilary Smyth. “It would also be a great colour for front porch furniture. Picture a rocker or vintage card table in this summery hue.”
“Fresh crisp whites are perfect in any season — especially summer — but I’m excited to paint my daughter’s room in Farrow & Ball’s Calamine (230) later this month,” says senior style editor Morgan Michener. “I love this muddy pastel pink, and am thinking about pairing it with grey trim, maybe Down Pipe (26).”
“Last summer I painted the headboard at my cottage Lullaby Yellow (2J1-6) by Beauti-Tone,” notes senior design editor Margot Austin. “I got a kick out of the name as a choice for a headboard. But it’s not a restful colour by a long shot! It’s pure happiness and sunshine — just what you want at a cottage.”
“I love Behr’s Mint Fizz, Winter Fresh and Spirited Green (470C) palette because it screams fresh and clean,” says assistant design editor Holly Meighen. “It’s also in the green category, which I love for this time of year! Paint a room in one of these hues for a cool, relaxing feel. Or for a less permanent dose of the colour, choose a piece of furniture to paint.”
“With all the fresh berries come summer, why not paint an accent wall in Benjamin Moore’s Crushed Berries (2076–30)?” asks Housenadhome.com’s associate editor Gwen McAuley. “It reminds me of lipstick, sorbet, freezies and a bowl full of raspberries on the dock. It’s fun and punchy, and would liven up any room.”
