French Farmhouse Villa

Sometimes, life isn’t fair. Not only does top model Carolyn Murphy have perfect cheek bones, but she also has the perfect house. It’s a mystery to me why she’s put the 3-bedroom, 8,300-square-foot, Los Angeles home on the market, especially after a recently completed renovation by celebrated interior designer Schuyler Samperton. But it’s up for grabs for $3 million. The spaces are sunny and casual, yet feel tailored and put together. Let’s take a look.

In the living room, I appreciate how the white walls are balanced by the warm, exposed ceiling beams, well-worn leather chairs, and texture-rich rug.

Like the living room, the dining room is also about balance: there’s a sense of formality to it — wouldn’t it be a great place for a dinner party? — but it’s casual enough for lazy Sunday brunches, too.

The principal ensuite is a sanctuary of relaxation, especially with the vine-covered terrace though the charming french doors.
