A New, Eames-Inspired Sofa

We love an Eames, well, anything, but this new sofa by Michigan-based designer Matthew Strong is extra cool. Strong spotted his inspiration at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan: prototypes of an armchair that Charles and Ray Eames were developing in the ’50s. He gave it a modern spin by using carbon fibre to make the seat, which was woven using a traditional caning pattern that allows it to be super-strong, but incredibly light.
