CB2 Opening In Canada
Yes, the rumours are true: CB2 is scheduled to open a two-storey space in Toronto in early 2011. It will take over The Big Bop nightclub’s former space on Queen Street West and Bathurst, but the chain promises it will retain the venue’s youthful spirit. Sleek outdoor furniture, cosy bedding, and fun accessories are just a slice of what CB2 is all about.
Here are some of my favourite CB2 pieces this season:
This Tatami Bamboo Bed Frame is made with sustainable bamboo and finished on both sides of the headboard, so that it doesn’t have to be pushed up against a wall. It’s perfect for a studio apartment or open-concept loft. $649.
Throw pillows for a cause. These 18” bird cushions were designed by an artist at Creativity Explored, a non-profit art centre for artists with developmental disabilities. A percentage of each pillow sale goes back to the art centre. Arrange a couple of these on your bed or on a linen-covered side chair. $20 each.
Add some colour to your hardwood or concrete floors with a few of these Flor Carpet Squares in Tin Tin Teal. Pattern them with other beige squares or arrange a few on their own beside your bed. This teal would look great with the caramel tones of the bamboo headboard. $14 for one 20” square.
I love the idea of keeping jewelry organized in Japanese-inspired serving dishes displayed on a dresser. This 3-piece Nagoya set is like a puzzle, with different angles that fit together on a black wood tray. Contemporary, simple, and oh-so-tidy. $15 per set.
