Christmas Lights In London

London, England is one of my favourite places to visit. You can always find a new restaurant to dine in, a new style to covet, a new gallery to explore and new people to enjoy a drink with at one of the pubs.

My husband and I spent some time in London in the middle of November, and while we were there my Christmas spirit was ignited — the British do Christmas right! The streets had beautiful displays of lights travelling from one side of the street to the other. All the storefronts had strings and strings of lights hanging from the top of the building all the way down to the ground.

The decorations on Oxford Street were sponsored by Marmite, with the slogan “You either love it or you hate it.” I didn’t love it, but I appreciated the work that went into it.

Regent Street was lined with the 12 days of Christmas. Each block was a new day — you could sing along to yourself (“On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…”) or with others while window shopping.

Although it hadn’t snowed yet, the lights were a wonderful start to the holiday season. Where have you seen the best Christmas lights?

Enjoy your weekend!
