Paint Color Pick: Lead Gray By Benjamin Moore

The paint color: Lead Gray (2131-30) by Benjamin Moore – a deep blue-grey that calls to mind the crushing waves of the sea at dusk.

Why we love it: This handsome shade is dark and moody, but also has richness and warmth.

How to use it: Try this serious but not somber hue in a cozy office, study or library, where it can offset a stack of colorful books or the orange glow of a fire. Pair it with warm gold accents and complementary shades like coral or the burnished hue of tan leather.

Ever since the famous black and blue dress that looked white and gold to me, I’ve doubted my color perception. The paint stroke does look like a deep blue gray to my eyes, but on the walls of the photo, I see a teal that’s more blue than green.
