Locally Designed Textiles

Recently I was browsing the shops around our office, and stumbled upon a gorgeous line of textiles in La Merceria. Pehr Designs seems to be doing something different. The Canadian company designs their fresh and feminine collection domestically and manufactures in India. Their carefully edited, unexpected and bold use of print and colour sets them apart. They print their patterns on cotton linen home goods like napkins, table runners, placemats, tea towels and hampers.

Their newest collection, Selby, masterfully combines stripes, dots, flowers and links with a modern and carefully selected colour palette.

Here are a few of my favourites:

Veteran House & Homer Michael Penney clearly feels the same about these colourful textiles. He recently shared his excitement about a new Pehr shipment to his store, Penney & Co. in Whitby, Ontario.

Available at stores across Canada and internationally, these charming textiles will inject some colour into any room. If you’re ever stuck on what to get a gracious host who has invited you to the cottage, why not pick up a few placemats, napkins or a runner?
