New York’s Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum Re-Opens

America’s only design museum, the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian, re-opened earlier this month after a three-year reno, and it’s looking good. Once the home of Andrew Carnegie, the Georgian-style mansion has been revamped to offer 60% more exhibition space, a new entrance and a digital archive of its collection. Like most museums, the Cooper Hewitt can’t display everything it has on hand, but now visitors can access virtual versions of thousands of objects thanks to a special app.
