The Palace of Versailles To Open Luxury Hotel

If you’ve ever visited the Palace of Versailles in Paris, chances are you’ve daydreamed about what it might have been like to live there. Now, a new hotel promises to get us a few steps closer to living that fantasy.

In efforts to boost tourism revenue, three neglected 17th-Century buildings just outside the palace gates may soon be converted into a luxury hotel. The palace’s management is currently seeking an outside partner to bid on the project and, once secured, the buildings will undergo a $4 million renovation with an additional $4-$7 million spent on transforming the building into a beautiful, five-star hotel.

The on-site property will likely be called the Hôtel du Grand Contrôle, and is scheduled to open sometime in 2016.
