Relaxed Georgia Mansion

When I think of Georgia, a number of things come to mind. No, not The Real Housewives of Atlanta or Designing Women! Usually, my thoughts turn to generous verandas overlooking lush greenery, gracious and friendly southern hospitality and relaxed but classic architecture. At first glance, this six-bedroom multimillion dollar house just north of Atlanta looks like a formal, European-style estate. But the interiors, crafted by celebrated Georgia designer Suzanne Kasler, have a casual-but-sophisticated feel that seems fitting for the American south.

Clearly, there’s ample parking space out front for large parties — which, if you had a house like this, would seem like a necessary and frequent thing to do.

The unfinished wood beams make the French Country kitchen feel warm and relaxed. I particularly like how there’s enough space for a dining table — perfect for informal family meals or prepping food for dinner.

There are six full masonry fireplaces in the house, including one in the dining room.

And this is where I would spend all my time, lounging with a spiked lemonade. Bliss!
